What do you do when your faith feels strong on the outside but you're falling apart on the inside?
Today we're revisiting one of our most meaningful conversations with author, speaker, and Bible teacher Sheila Walsh.
In this deeply personal episode, Haley and Dustin talk with Sheila about depression, childhood trauma, mental health, and the life-changing hope found in Jesus Christ.
Sheila shares her powerful story of growing up with deep emotional wounds, pursuing perfection in an effort to earn God's approval, and eventually finding herself in a psychiatric hospital with severe clinical depression. But it was there—in one of the darkest seasons of her life—that she began to discover God's grace, His presence, and the truth that the Good Shepherd knows exactly where to find us.
Together they explore prayer, suffering, healing, and what it means to trust God when life doesn't make sense. If you've ever struggled with depression, discouragement, or wondered where God is in your pain, this conversation is a powerful reminder that the Good Shepherd knows exactly where to find you—and that you are never beyond the reach of His love.

"You are loved. Deal with it."
That's how Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton summarizes the gospel.
After a lifetime of chasing excellence, standing on podiums, battling cancer, enduring loss, and navigating unimaginable challenges, Scott discovered a truth far greater than any medal or accomplishment: his worth was never found in what he achieved, but in being loved by God.
In this conversation, Scott shares his remarkable journey—from childhood illness and adoption to Olympic glory, cancer diagnoses, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. He reflects on the dangers of building your identity around success, the role of prayer in life's hardest moments, and why God's grace means more than any trophy, title, or achievement.
Whether you're facing a setback, carrying a burden, or wondering what truly matters in life, Scott's story is a powerful reminder that hope is found not in what you accomplish, but in the God who loves you. And when life knocks you down—as it inevitably will—His grace gives you the strength to get back up.

Are you stressed out and wondering how to find peace in your daily life?
Stress has become the background noise of modern life. Between endless responsibilities, constant notifications, information overload, and busy schedules, many of us feel overwhelmed and don't know how to slow down.
In this episode, Haley and Dustin explore what stress really is, the difference between healthy and unhealthy stress, and why we all respond to pressure differently. They discuss five common stress responses: the Controller, Performer, Caretaker, Avoider, and Catastrophizer, and how these patterns reveal what's happening beneath the surface.
You'll also learn practical ways to manage stress, develop healthy rhythms of rest, and trust God when life feels like too much.

As America marks its 250th anniversary, there's no better time to ask: what has kept this nation standing? Elizabeth Carlyle's answer is simple — prayer.
Elizabeth learned that at age eleven, when her father suffered a heart attack and was rushed away in an ambulance. She rode her bike to the end of the street, watched it go by, and prayed. He survived. And fifty years later, she still prays every time she hears a siren. That moment became the foundation of a life built on the belief that prayer isn't a last resort — it's the first and most powerful thing you can do.
Elizabeth is an author, attorney, and Bible study teacher, and the CEO of First Freedom Art Company — the stewards of Arnold Freeberg's famous painting of George Washington, Prayer at Valley Forge. It's also the cover of her book Americans Who Pray: Uniting a Nation in Faith and Freedom, released in honor of America's 250th anniversary.
In this conversation, she shares the stories behind gathering prayers from founding fathers, presidents, and current leaders — including Ben Carson, Tim Tebow, and June Hunt — and what she learned about prayer along the way.
This is an encouraging conversation on the importance of prayer in the Christian life and in the history of our country as we celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

What would your life look like if you stopped striving to earn approval? If you didn't wrestle with guilt or shame? If you truly understood God's grace?
For most of us, that feels more like a dream than a reality—because grace is one of the most common words in Christianity and also one of the most misunderstood. We know we're saved by grace, yet we still live with performance, shame, striving, perfectionism, and self-reliance. We understand grace in theory but struggle to receive it in practice.
In this episode, Haley and Dustin explore what God's grace really is, why we need it, and the many ways it shows up across every dimension of life. They discuss common misconceptions about grace, the barriers that keep us from receiving it, and practical steps for learning to live from God's grace instead of constantly striving for approval.
Peter's call to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18) isn't just an instruction—it's an invitation to a different way of living.
If you're exhausted by striving, weighed down by shame, or stuck in perfectionism, this conversation is for you.

Have you ever felt like your relationship with God isn't quite what it's "supposed" to look like?
In this conversation, Haley and Dustin sit down with Hosanna Wong — international speaker, spoken word artist, and best-selling author — to talk about what it looks like to stop overcomplicating your faith and actually enjoy God for real.
Hosanna shares her remarkable story: growing up in outdoor church on the streets of San Francisco, losing her dad to cancer at 18, and finding her voice as she traveled the country for four and a half years with no home base — discovering the church, and herself, along the way.
She also digs into her latest book, Uncomplicated, sharing the six roadblocks that keep us from connecting with God and seven unique worship personalities (she calls them "praise-onalities") that might just explain why your faith doesn't look like everyone else's — and why that's actually a good thing.
If you feel stuck in your relationship with God or find yourself comparing your faith to others, this episode is for you.

What if the Christian life isn’t about achieving – but receiving?
In this episode, Dr. Libin Abraham, lead pastor of Bent Tree Bible Fellowship, shares how discovering grace transformed his faith from burnout to freedom. Instead of striving to earn identity, he learned to rest in what God had already done.
Together, we explore the difference between a “rowboat” life powered by effort and a “sailboat” life moved by the Spirit. Libin also unpacks how humility opens the door to grace, how eternal hope reshapes daily living, and why care is central to discipleship.
If you’ve ever felt exhausted trying to be enough, this conversation invites you to experience the freedom, power, and hope found in God’s grace.
Dr. Libin is also a featured speaker at our upcoming Called to Care event – see link below to learn more and sign up.
